Cloud security vendor launches channel program for MSSPs, VARs
The Lowdown: Danielle Wilson, who has experience as a channel executive with such companies as Gigamon, Fortinet, FireMon, and LogRhythm, will lead Menlo Security’s Boost! program as director of North America channels.
The Details: Menlo offers an isolation technology that’s designed to separate enterprise networks from the public Internet but continue to let employees access the Internet without interruption. The technology takes a zero-trust approach and essentially treats all Internet content as malicious, removing such tasks as viewing of e-mail attachments and web browsing from a user’s desktop and moves it to the cloud. This is aimed at protecting users and the network from such threats as phishing attacks and ransomware.
Company officials said Menlo’s technology is used by hundreds of Global 2000 firms and are looking to channel partners to accelerate growth. Through the Boost! program, Menlo is offering solid margins for registered and nonregistered opportunities and renewals with guaranteed incumbency protection.
The vendor also will provide resources, tools, training, and certifications, as well as support for partners’ marketing efforts.
Background: Menlo has raised $150.5 million in four rounds of funding since 2014, including $75 million announced in June. Investors include J.P. Morgan Asset Management, General Catalyst, Sutter Hill Ventures, American Express Ventures, and HSBC. According to Menlo, its cloud security platform processes more than 500 million web requests each day and customers include seven of the 10 largest banks and four of the five largest credit card companies.
The Buzz: “With the launch of the Boost! program, Menlo Security continues to drive a channel-first market strategy that many of our competitors have abandoned,” Wilson said. “Our trusted channel partners are truly an extension of our team, so our goal is to act as a value-added partner back to the channel by developing a program that is meaningful and helps them achieve their bottom line.”
“Menlo Security’s technology is the only cloud security platform that is powered by isolation, and it provides the most secure way for enterprises to replace expensive, on-premises security appliances with a global security cloud,” said Steve Duncan, president of Cyber Watch Systems, a Menlo Security channel partner. “The new Boost! program will help us engage with customers to establish a relationship of mutual value.”
