Unveils new tool to drive GDPR compliance
Smartsheet, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company whose platform is aimed at driving collaboration and simplifying work management, is launching a new partner program and rolling out a solution to help companies manage the European Union’s privacy regulation.
The Lowdown: The company’s Smartsheet Aligned partner program includes everything from a channel account team and marketing support to financial incentives and sales and technical training, as well as the Smartsheet Partner Portal that offers sales automation tools.
The Details: Smartsheeet also is including a consulting services enablement program, through which partners can leverage Smartsheet technologies to deliver implementation services and customer solutions to their customers. The Bellevue, Washington-based company, founded in 2005, is actively recruiting new channel partners as it looks to accelerate sales of its enterprise SaaS offerings.
Company officials see partnerships as a way of expanding its reach globally and in vertical markets. An example is Smartsheet’s new Accelerator for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is now generally available to help end users adapt to the EU’s data privacy rules. The solution was developed with Protiviti, a global consulting firm based in Menlo Park, California, and combines Smartsheet’s technology and Protiviti best practices to help enterprises manage GDPR tool compliance.
The Impact: The rollout of the Smartsheet Aligned partner program and the GDPR solution were among a number of moves the company made this week during its Engage customer event in Seattle. The vendor, which has 82,000 customers in 190 countries and more than 1,400 employees, also unveiled Achieve as One Alliance, a collection of companies that will address the need to help people more easily work with technology, and rolled out a host of marketing and creative content solutions that touch on content collaboration capabilities from the company’s acquisition this year of an application called Slope and planned integrations with Adobe Creative Cloud.
The Buzz: “A strong partner ecosystem is a critical element of being a trusted, enterprise-grade platform,” said Mike Arntz, Chief Revenue Officer and executive vice president of worldwide field operations at Smartsheet. “Smartsheet Aligned gives partners the opportunity to be ‘champions of achievement’ by leveraging our technology to deliver premium services and solutions that make our shared customers more successful.”
“Companies have been searching for ways to ignite workforce achievement to be more collaborative, effective, and efficient in connecting with consumers and employees, especially in areas where legacy purpose-built applications lag behind evolving market needs. Smartsheet offers an intuitive and extensible technology platform to transform the way compliance and technology leaders operationalize privacy programs,” said Kurt Underwood, a Protiviti managing director and global head of managed technology solutions. “We’re excited to provide our consulting services alongside Smartsheet using the Accelerator for GDPR, a game-changer in the governance, risk management, and compliance marketplace.”
“We were looking for a platform that provides a centralized view of the disparate processes involved in maintaining GDPR compliance,” said Lori Blackley, director of risk and compliance at Epiq, a Smartsheet partner and provider of legal services. “The Accelerator for GDPR enables this along with user-friendly dashboards and reporting so we know where to focus our efforts. We’ve even started using Smartsheet for tasks other than GDPR, seeing real efficiency gains as a result.”
