New CIRRUS suite looks to bring ICS and operational defenses to smaller firms, channel partners
New York-based Indegy this week introduced CIRRUS, a cloud-native, as-a-service version of its ICS and operational technology security offering that adds simplified setup and an intuitive, IT-friendly interface that provides visibility, intuitive workflows for policy and configuration management, threat hunting, remediation and response, and reporting capabilities.
The Lowdown: CIRRUS also takes advantage of Indegy’s global enterprise deployments with a real-time threat-intelligence feed, a resource that would typically be out of reach for most SMBs with ICS or OT systems to protect. Indegy CIRRUS can be deployed in hybrid cloud or pure cloud configurations.
The Details: Indegy CIRRUS combines four integrated applications that can be deployed as flexible hybrid cloud or pure cloud options:
>Indegy CIRRUS Live Feed – Provides threat intelligence infrastructure with real-time updates on high-risk threats, including vulnerabilities, signatures, and other indicators of compromise
>Indegy CIRRUS Enterprise Manager – Enables centralized management and visibility for distributed, multi-site environments from the cloud.
>Indegy CIRRUS ICS Cloud Collaboration – Collects and correlates anonymized data from Indegy deployments around the world for real-time sharing of threat intelligence and remediation recommendations.
>Indegy CIRRUS Device Integrity – Provides organizations with complete security coverage – now in pure cloud configuration with simplified VPN setup and no hardware requirements – via patented active detection technology.
The new version of the Indegy Industrial Cybersecurity Suite and Indegy CIRRUS ICSaaS are available immediately, with additional features to be generally available later this summer.
The Impact: Indegy has traditionally sold direct to large, global enterprises, but has increasingly been looking to expand its partner base, connecting with managed security service providers (MSSPs) and other security-focused IT resellers. The new as-a-service delivery model should make Indegy’s technology more appealing to both smaller organizations and the channel community that serves them.
The Buzz: “Offering ICS security as a cloud-delivered service has the potential to improve the scalability and flexibility of deployments while extending security to smaller operators that lack the resources to manage complex installations,” said Patrick Daly, analyst at 451 Research. “In addition, the ability to instantly share threat intelligence from one customer site across all of Indegy’s customers should help to reduce the time needed to detect and respond to security incidents.”
“While the disintegration of the air-gap has opened up industrial control networks to external threats, we view this disruption as an opportunity to deliver better, simpler, and more accessible security to any size organization,” said Mille Gandlesman, CTO of Indegy. “Indegy CIRRUS takes advantage of the cloud to disseminate and collaboratively share intelligence in real time to stay ahead of threats, enable global security management from anywhere, and deliver comprehensive protection capabilities as a service.”
