For the second time this week, NEC has announced a partnership aimed at improving efficiency in the workplace.
The Lowdown: This time, the company’s display division will take on global Platinum Partner status for the UC Workspace Quicklaunch meeting application, which has been customized for use with NEC’s InfinityBoard.
The Details: NEC Display Solutions of America’s InfinityBoard is an all-in-one resource for team-focused meeting rooms. The InfinityBoard-Quicklaunch bundle is conferencing provider-agnostic, offering a flexible solution that allows users to quickly and easily join meetings facilitated by more than 30 providers. In addition, users can launch applications, share devices, and more, all in a secured environment, according to company officials.
They also said the partnership between the two companies is “in response to growing customer requirements and the global nature of fast-growing collaborative workspaces.” The NEC InfinityBoard with Quicklaunch will be available in North America this fall.
The Buzz: “NEC Display Solutions prides itself on being a leader in the collaborative workspace,” said Art Marshall, senior product manager, Solutions, at NEC. “That’s why we are pleased to announce this global partnership that delivers full workspace solutions that don’t lock our customers into a single conferencing provider or a single set of applications.”
“Workspaces and meeting rooms are changing and thus the demands of our customers,” said Angela Hlavka, CEO of UC Workspace. “The solution bundle from NEC, which includes Quicklaunch, allows both organizations to evolve with them, offering an easy, flexible, and powerful solution that can be used not only on interactive displays but also with other NEC displays and projectors.”
