Acquired technology to be merged into Imperva’s platform for tighter app, API controls

Redwood Shores, California-based threat management firm Imperva this week announced the acquisition of Distil Networks, a provider of security solutions that defend against automated attacks.
The Lowdown: The deal brings to Imperva a comprehensive bot management solution that can identify and respond to machine-driven attacks on applications or APIs no matter where they’re deployed, officials said.
The Details: Imperva plans to fold the Distil anti-bot technology into its existing security stack to give users a more comprehensive, layered solution to protect cloud applications and APIs, officials said.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
