Business availability and cloud migration vendor Axcient this week announced the hiring of channel veteran Gina Thompson, who takes over as vice president of worldwide channels and distribution at the Denver-based company.
The Lowdown: Thompson, who has more than 20 years of experience in the IT channel, takes over for Jason Bystrak, a fellow Ingram Cloud alum who left Axcient earlier this year to run the cloud business unit at D&H Distributing.
The Details: In her new role, Thompson will be responsible for developing strategic alliances and driving increased adoption of Axcient’s business availability suite in the IT channel, according to company officials. Thompson will report to Axcient’s Chief Revenue Officer Jeff Cummings.
Background: In her most recent role as the Global Cloud Business Operations Transformation Leader at Ingram Micro, Thompson worked closely with key stakeholders to assess where programs needed to be built or improved to support accelerated growth, a scalable business model, reduction of costs, and increased efficiencies.
The Buzz: “Gina brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Axcient, and we’re excited to welcome her to the team,” said Cummings. “This announcement reaffirms our commitment to the IT channel and our focus on helping our partners elevate their go-to-market strategies with Axcient’s suite of leading cloud solutions. As a change agent in the industry with a proven ability to provide leadership during transformational market changes, we look forward to the growth and impact Gina will have in her new role.”
