Breach detection and response specialist Lastline late last week named tech industry sales veteran Gregory Enriquez as its new Chief Revenue Officer as part of the company’s effort to stay on pace with the growth of a rapidly expanding market.
The Lowdown: In his new role, Enriquez will be responsible for Lastline’s global direct, channel, and OEM sales.
Enriquez brings relevant experience to the the task of leading sales strategy at a vendor like Lastline, which is seeing impressive growth in a crowded market with what it claims is a network and e-mail security platform augmented by artificial intelligence (AI). Most notably, Enriquez served as worldwide vice president of sales at endoint security and incident response vendor Mandiant prior to its acquisition by FireEye in 2014.
The Details: While at Mandiant, Enriquez grew the sales force from four reps to more than 50 while producing rapid product revenue growth that led to the acquisition. After that acquisition, he led the global FireEye advanced technology sales team, nearly doubling the size of the organization.
As part of the executive shuffle at the company, interim sales manager Brian Laing, a five-year veteran of the organization, will now lead Lastline’s Corporate Development and Strategic Alliances effort, according to officials in Redwood City, Calif.
Background: After leaving FireEye in 2015, Enriquez held CEO positions at TrapX Security and Gigster, a company that claims to apply AI to the task of putting together on-demand software development teams. Earlier in his career, Enriquez spent 22 years at IBM in a variety of roles, including worldwide vice president of industry software sales.
The Buzz: “Greg’s successes in driving enterprise security sales growth, together with his diverse general management pedigree, make him uniquely qualified to lead Lastline’s customer facing efforts,” said Lastline CEO John DiLullo. “Our AI-powered network security solutions are experiencing truly explosive growth, and Greg is the perfect leader to spearhead our aggressive expansion plans in this market.”
“Lastline is on the cusp of tremendous growth in the network security market,” said Enriquez. “The company’s AI-powered technology is not only innovative, but has been rated as more effective at defeating advanced threats than anything else on the market. I’m looking forward to helping companies implement security that’s up to the challenges they face today and continuing the incredible momentum the team has created.”
