Cloud-based services give disty’s MSP customers new options for spinning up managed security practices

Distributor Tech Data and security services specialist StratoZen this week inked a deal to offer a menu of cloud-based managed security services aimed largely at MSPs looking for help in entering the lucrative managed security market.
The Lowdown: The co-branded managed security solutions include hosted network device management and cloud-based security information and event management (SIEM) services built from Fortinet offerings.
The Details: The services are available now to Tech Data partners in the United States.
The Impact: The StratoZen offerings should be attractive to MSPs looking to spin up security practices but unable to justify investing in home-grown security operations centers and deploying and managing complex SIEM platforms.
An MSSP and Fortinet integration partner by pedigree, StratoZen of Salt Lake City now specializes in delivering outsourced security services to MSPs as the underpinnings of a managed security offering.
The Buzz: “Some of the world’s largest managed service providers and enterprises use StratoZen for security and compliance monitoring, and we’re excited to add their Fortinet-based solutions to our security portfolio,” said Alex Ryals, vice president for security solutions at Tech Data in Clearwater, Fla. “Many MSPs use StratoZen to instantly enhance their security capabilities, and Tech Data’s distribution and supply chain expertise will help StratoZen expand its target market immediately, providing our partner ecosystem with another strong security offering.”
“We are delighted to partner with Tech Data to address the ever-growing security threat landscape faced by today’s businesses, and our mutual channel partners will benefit from the value found in Tech Data’s market knowledge and security expertise,” said StratoZen CEO Kevin Prince. “We have an intimate understanding of our customers’ security challenges, and we answer the call by using next-generation enterprise security tools to provide complete, cloud-based solutions, along with customized implementation and management services.”
